EVE Online Launches New Beta Launcher and Visual Overhaul for a More Immersive Experience in New Eden

EVE Online is preparing to launch a new and improved launcher that promises to streamline players’ experience. The new launcher, now available in beta, will put players’ characters front and center and offer personalized content, in addition to improving security and performance.

The new EVE launcher will also enable automatic updates, faster development, and native support for all operating systems and architectures supported by EVE Online. New players will get a simplified version and educational content, while veterans can focus on character management and communication.

To file a bug report or request customer support, players can now generate a “Support Payload,” an archive containing relevant logs, crash dumps, and other valuable data for investigation. The beta stage will provide ample opportunities to refine and enhance various features before their final debut.

The beta version of the new launcher is available for download now, and the EVE Online team is actively monitoring player feedback to shape the final version. The launcher is only available in English for now, but support for additional languages is on the horizon and will be introduced in an upcoming update.

In addition to the new launcher, EVE Online is also introducing a graphical overhaul that will allow for unlimited shadows in scenes, providing a new level of detail to the EVE universe. Anti-aliasing will provide smoother edges and vastly reduce “specular aliasing,” making for a smoother and more visually pleasing experience.

The updates go live on April 25, but players can get a sneak peek by joining the mass test on the Singularity server on April 13 at 17:00 UTC. EVE Online players can also look forward to the extended Capsuleer Day event in May, with exclusive anniversary-themed rewards and a chance to etch their name in history on the expanded EVE monument.
