Everything We Know About The Wagadu Chronicles So Far
The Wagadu Chronicles is an upcoming African-inspired sandbox MMORPG from Twin Drums with a strong emphasis on Role-Play and storytelling. The game is currently in alpha with no release date revealed yet.
In addition to being an MMO, The Wagadu Chronicles is also a 5th-edition Dungeons & Dragons setting.
The game is set in Wagadu, a new Afrofantasy world that is inspired by various African cultures. The game is centered around village life with a player-driven economy driven by crafting. Players will be able to gather totems to buff their village and their community.
Wagadu Chronicles will feature several biomes including rainforests, savannahs, swamps, and deserts. There will also be seasonal weather changes and a day and night cycle.
Combat in Wagadu will be turn-based and players will have to rely on tactical positioning and planning to win fights.
Players will also be able to play as merchants, gatherers, or perhaps a Shaman.
The music and sounds in the game will be inspired by authentic African music that will be blended with elements from traditional fantasy music.
