Pearl Abyss Shares New Videos for Black Desert Online’s Upcoming Expansion: Land of the Morning Light
Pearl Abyss, the Korean publisher and developer, has unveiled two videos for the highly anticipated expansion of Black Desert Online, the “Land of the Morning Light.” This expansion, set to launch globally on PC on June 14, is touted as the largest for Black Desert yet, bringing to life a mesmerizing landscape inspired by the Joseon period, the last dynastic kingdom of Korea.
“Land of the Morning Light” boasts rich storytelling across numerous non-linear questlines, underpinned by an impressive 80 cutscenes, 40 vignettes, and 6,000 fully dubbed lines. This new expansion is set to feature diverse new landscapes, intricate architecture, unique vegetation, and colossal boss battles – each tailored to customized difficulty levels.
The first of the two new videos, “Beauty and Splendor Beckons,” is a stunning showcase of the captivating landscapes of the Land of the Morning Light. These scenes are remarkably inspired by real Korean landmarks and locations, rendering an immersive gaming experience that is both visually stunning and historically rooted.
The second video, “Boss Battle,” presents an adrenaline-pumping preview of the formidable bosses awaiting players in the Land of the Morning Light. Bosses such as Sangoon, the guardian of Taebaek Mountain, and Duoksini, the King of the Dokkebi, come to life in these epic battles. These bosses are uniquely inspired by Korean folktales that have been passed down through generations, merging traditional storytelling with thrilling gameplay.
