Jagex Announces New Survival Game Set in the RuneScape Universe, Seeks Playtesters for Closed Alpha
Jagex has announced the development of a new survival game set within the RuneScape universe. The game is being developed using Unreal Engine 5 and will introduce an open-world survival experience. Jagex shared that they are recruiting playtesters for the Closed Alpha phase, inviting players to help shape the game.
This new project was first referenced in a June 2022 press release, which detailed the expansion of Jagex’s development team for an undisclosed Unreal 5 open-world survival game. The team includes Maddie Harper as Senior Producer, Guilhem Barloy as Associate Technical Director, and Géry Arduino as Principal Technical Artist. These team members bring experience from working on titles such as Assassin’s Creed, Ghost Recon, and DriveClub.
The game aims to expand the RuneScape universe to new platforms, including desktop and consoles. Jagex is currently seeking players to participate in its Closed Alpha. Those interested can sign up through this form.
