What Would World of Warcraft 2 Look Like?
One of the main factors that originally set World of Warcraft apart from other MMOs was the stylized graphics. The almost cartoony style stood in contrast to other MMOs like Everquest which tried to portray realism to some extent.
Many people will argue that out of all the old-school MMORPGs, WoW has aged the best in terms of graphics, both when looking at the graphics of Classic WoW and at the updated graphics in Shadowlands.
But what would a new World of Warcraft game look like in the 2020s? Would Blizzard stick to the stylized graphics of the original or would they push for realism? Maybe something closer to what their cinematics look like?
Many artists have over the years tried to envision what an updated World of Warcraft would look like, and in this post, we will take a look at the best attempts at recreating Azeroth to find out how World of Warcraft 2 would look.
Some of these graphics might be a bit dated already and some might not seem achievable in-game, but it does give us some insight on what is possible.
Just take a look at Black Desert Online with max settings to see what is possible in an MMO today, and look at Unreal Engine 5 demos to see what’s possible in the next generation of games. If Blizzard ever decided to make a WoW sequel it would take at least 4-5 years to make, and at release, we would probably be close to 2030, so who knows what’s possible in terms of graphics.
Do you think there ever will be a World of Warcraft sequel, and what type of graphics and features would you hope for? Let us know in the comments!
Dude is realy sick graphique a need world of warcraft 2 like this no joke is true or no
this would be AWESOME !!!!!
I think by the time we’ll be able to reach something like this, it would be a virtual type of mask/eye glass thing and we “Be Come” our own toons finally! to feel the realism of the game playing more and what have us.
