Albion Online’s Knightfall Patch: New Features, Items, and Quality-of-Life Improvements Revealed in Dev Talk

Albion Online, the popular sandbox MMORPG, is gearing up for its next major patch called Knightfall. In a recent Dev Talk, Game Director Robin Henkys shared some exciting features and improvements that players can expect with the upcoming patch.

One of the major additions to the game is the introduction of new features in The Mists. Players can now discover and loot Caches, a new type of chest found in Mob Camps, with personal rewards for each player who completes the objective. Coffers, similar to open-world treasures, will also reveal their location only to nearby players. And for those who love a good dungeon crawl, Knightfall Abbey, a new type of dungeon within The Mists, is also set to be explored in a forthcoming Dev Talk.

The Roads of Avalon, another popular feature in Albion Online, have also received some much-needed changes and improvements. Elite Camps have been rebalanced for groups of 5-7, and more off-road paths and roaming Mobs have been added. Additionally, new upgrade levels of Avalonian Mages and Archers have been introduced. Hideouts can now be declared as a Headquarters without a booster, and Power Cores in the Roads are now more concentrated on Raid regions.

Players will also be able to purchase new items from the new trader, Eralia Wayfarer, located in Brecilien. Depending on a player’s Brecilien Standing, they can purchase ingredients for Brecilien Capes, which have a Mists-inspired design and a protective shield ability. Eggs to grow Mystic Owls or Elite Mystic Owls are also available. Elite Mystic Owls have a Glide ability, flying upwards and becoming temporarily unhittable. For Mists veterans, the ‘Wanderer in the Mists’ Avatar and Avatar Ring can also be purchased.

Aside from new features and items, the Knightfall patch also brings significant quality-of-life improvements. Players can now repair items at the Marketplace, change character gender for Gold, and bind directional movement to hotkeys. There are also several big quality-of-life improvements, such as the ‘Travel Mode’ display option, which shows a partly-transparent Region Map overlaid on the screen.
