Blue Protocol Developer Livestream Reveals Exciting Updates and New Class Reveal

The eighth Developer Livestream for the hotly-anticipated MMO, BLUE PROTOCOL, has just wrapped up and, as expected, it has left fans more eager than ever for its official release. Developed by esteemed studios Bandai Namco Online and Bandai Namco Studios, the online action RPG, originally launching on PC, is also scheduled to be released on PS5 and XBOX X|S series.

The livestream highlighted various exciting aspects of the game, with the agenda spanning over topics such as Launch Overview, Pre-Registrations and Pre-Download, Twitter/Retweet Campaigns, Regnas Store & Monetization, Update Roadmap #2, and Gameplay Demonstrations.

Japanese Launch Time

The Blue Protocol Japanese servers are set to go live at 12:00hrs JST on June 14th, 2023. The cash shop (Regnas Store) will open three hours after launch, with weekly maintenances on Wednesdays at 10:00hrs JST.

Launch Campaigns

Players can join a team (Guild) and work collectively towards reaching level 2 to earn an in-game ring. The reward system is currently limited due to legal issues concerning promotions for overseas users.

Regnas Store and Gacha System

The Regnas Store offers a variety of purchasable items, including costumes, mounts, and accessories. The store also features a Gacha system, allowing players to roll for rewards using tickets obtainable from Season Passes and the Regnas Store.

Players can combine the sets obtained from Gachas freely and handle duplicates by sending them to an alternate character, a friend, or exchanging them for BPP (Blue Protocol Points).

Season Pass

The Season Pass in Blue Protocol lasts about 50 to 60 days. Players can earn Season Points by completing Season Quests. There are three types of plans: Basic, Advanced, and Royal. The Advanced Plan costs 180 rose orbs while the Royal Plan costs 550 rose orbs.

Players who reach the maximum rank in Season 1 are rewarded with a free Advanced Pass for Season 2.

Limited Time Content and Rewards

There are two types of raid structures in Blue Protocol: regular and rotating limited-time content. The game also features Time Attacks and Score Attacks that run for approximately 2 weeks.

Visual Upgrade

The developers showcased a few dungeon screenshots, hinting at a significant visual upgrade. One of the dungeons is set in an environment where it is constantly raining.

New Class – Blitz Lancer

The sixth class for Blue Protocol, Blitz Lancer, is set to be released in August 2023. The Blitz Lancer is characterized by their light footwork and the use of a thin lance, promising a unique mechanic that rewards skillful and strategic play.

July & August Update Plan

A Summer Event is planned to kick off the launch of Blue Protocol, promising summer-themed items, costumes, and events. More details will be unveiled in Developer Livestream #9.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Blue Protocol will feature a “secondary password system” as a form of two-factor authentication, which is entered within the game itself and does not require a separate device like a phone.

While BLUE PROTOCOL has been subject to intense scrutiny and high expectations, this latest livestream appears to have succeeded in stoking the anticipation of its eager fans. With its official Japanese launch just around the corner, only time will tell if the game lives up to the hype.
