City of Titans is an upcoming superhero MMO. It is the spiritual successor to City of Heroes, which was shut down in 2012 after a licensing disagreement between the game’s developer, Paragon Studios, and its publisher, NCSoft.
With features like advanced character customization, a robust storyline, and engaging co-op gameplay, City of Titans promises to be immersive and exciting, all in the spirit of City of Heroes.
The developers have been very tight-lipped about the game, but they have released some information about what we can expect from it. In this blog post, we will take a look at everything we know about City of Titans so far!
Missing Worlds Media
City of Titans is being developed by Missing Worlds Media, a community-based game studio that was founded by City of Heroes and MMO fans. Missing World Media is committed to bringing back fan-favorite MMOs that died “too soon,” as City of Heroes did.
Create Your Own Superhero
One of the biggest features that City of Titans will offer is player customization. The game will give players the ability to create their own unique superhero or supervillain, choosing everything from their costume and powers to their backstory.
Heroes in City of Titans are broken into six different archetypes: Stalwart, Ranger, Enforcer, Guardian, Operator, and Commander, which each is split into three different specializations. This gives players a wide range of flexibility when creating their characters, and allows them to fine-tune their heroes according to their own playstyle preferences.
Powers in City of Titans promised to be customizable, making it possible to make even more unique superheroes.
Many different powers and types of powers will be available from melee attacks to protective auras, psychic attacks, and illusions.
Welcome to Titan City
In addition to customizing your character, City of Titans will also feature an open-world environment where players can explore and fight crime together.
Titan City is a huge, sprawling metropolis that is split into smaller districts and neighborhoods. This gives City of Titans a sense of realism and immerses players in their own little corner of the world.
Unreal Engine 5
In October 2022, the team at Missing Worlds Media announced that City of Titans had transitioned to Unreal Engine 5. This is great news, the new engine will allow City of Titans to provide more impressive visuals and more in-depth gameplay.
