Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen March Producer’s Letter Reveals Progress on Crafting, Gathering, and Open World System

Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen, the upcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) by Visionary Realms, has released its latest newsletter, the March Producer’s Letter. The letter covers updates on the game’s development progress, including the Crafting and Gathering systems, optimization of the Persistence server, and performance improvements.

One of the highlights of the newsletter is the announcement of the updated Pantheon Streamer & Content Creator program. Content creators can now sign up for a time slot to stream or record footage during the monthly Pre-Alpha sessions, with limitations and guidelines set for recorded footage. The Pre-Alpha Test is scheduled for April 15 through April 16, and the Woodcutting Gathering profession will be available for testing during this session.

The newsletter also includes the Alpha Roadmap, detailing the progress on various game systems and art assets. Some notable updates include the completion of NPC Combat Awareness and Asset & Terrain Streaming, as well as progress on the Climbing and Swimming systems. The developers have also started work on a new Gathering profession (Skinning) and the Item Enhancement system for Crafting.

In addition to the development updates, the newsletter features a recap of the developer’s live stream on Crafting and Gathering, as well as an episode of Parting the Veil where Creative Director Chris “Joppa” Perkins discussed Pantheon’s move to a fully open world system.

It sounds like Joppa is almost as big a fan of everquest as I was. If it weren't for a new $60 expansion every 3 months or so I would never have quit. My question is, will the faction system be modeled after EQ, and will there be some content/ bosses that will require a specific class like EQ,ie: a tank, or mesmerizer? And what other things about EQ will be prevalent?
