Pantheon’s Creative Director Chris Perkins Says “Imminence” is the Banner Word for Pantheon in 2022
In the latest Pantheon developer live stream, Senior Content Creator David Schlow and Creative Director Chris Perkins show off some of the recent changes that have been made to Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen.
The stream starts off by showing some character models and how they look with the new HD rendering pipeline in Unity HD, which is a huge improvement over how the models looked before.
We also got a peek at some newly created weapon concepts in different materials in-game, also done in the HDRP.
During the presentation of the weapon models, Chris Perkins also dropped a couple of clues for the Pantheon fans to ponder regarding the newly announced changes to the combat system.
Our goal is to make weapon choice and skill a meaningful decisions for all classes at all levels
Weapon types and weapon skills are going to go much deeper in Pantheon than simply improving your chance to hit a target.
The stream continued by showing a bit of progress on the Wild’s End zone and also a recap of some of the dungeons we have been introduced to so far in Pantheon.
A brand new water-themed dungeon located in Wild’s End called The Gate was also unveiled, which will like all Pantheon dungeons be a non-linear experience according to Chris Perkins.
On the topic of moving from 2021 to 2022 in terms of the development of Pantheon, Perkins says that 2021 has been about “weathering the storm” to get Pantheon to its current HDRP state and that the word to describe Pantheon in 2022 is “imminence” with the alpha in mind.
Towards the end of the stream which can be seen below, we also get a short Q&A with questions from the community.
