The Best Addons For The Elder Scrolls Online in 2024
Some call them addons, others call them lifesavers. From combat helpers to utility plugins, these apps have become an integral part of the MMO experience.
Whether you are a new Elder Scrolls Online player or an experienced Tamriel adventurer, you will greatly benefit from the use of addons.
We have put together the Best Addons For ESO list that includes the most popular addons for a variety of purposes.
MiniMap by Fyrakin and Votan’s Minimap
Whether you opt for one or another is just a matter of personal preference. Both addons provide an enhanced mini-map to make getting around and finding locations easier.
Votan’s mini-map is always on the screen and displays several points of interest at once.
Fyrakin’s mini-map comes with a wealth of customization options and supports other map-enhancing addons such as LostTreasure and Destinations.
SkyShards and LoreBooks
These two addons show you the location of Skyshards and books. There are two separate addons but they both work in a similar manner.
SkyShards and LoreBooks simply put map pins to show the location of these items.
The LoreBooks addon adds pins for Shalidor’s Books and Eidetic Memory Scrolls. Both addons are easy to use and configure.
Harvest Map
On a scale of 1 to 10, how much do you hate farming? 15! Harvest Map does not make farming more enjoyable – it would take a miracle for that, not just some lines of code – but it makes it more efficient so you will be done with it faster.
The addon shows the location of ores, plants, cloths, wood, runestones, chests, fishing spots, hidden stashes, and more. You’re welcome!
Quest Map
Quest Map is a useful tool for completionists and leveling players. It adds map pins for uncompleted quests.
The tooltips display the quest name and description. You can use filters to see completed, uncompleted, and started quests. There are also filters for quest categories such as quests that give skill points.
Urich’s Skill Point Finder
Urich Skill Point Finder shows the skill points you have acquired and, most importantly, those you haven’t.
The addon has an easy-to-read UI that displays the skill points progression from dungeons, multiplayer events, story and dungeon quests, and skyshards.
Urich’s/Vastaryous Skill Point Finder extends the addon’s functionality for Markarth and Flames of Ambition DLCs.
Bandits User Interface
Bandits User Interface lets you make the game’s default UI more to your liking. The addon features several themes and styles.
It keeps track of buffs and ability timers. It’s useful when you are in a group as it shows group frames and members’ buffs. It also has a combat reticle with timers.
AUI – Advanced UI
This is another UI customization interface that focuses on combat info. The addon comprises several modules such as unit frames for players, targets, groups, raids, and bosses.
It also incorporates combat statistics, scrolling combat text, and it keeps track of buffs. AUI – Advanced UI lets you customize the action bars and has a mini-map module as well.
Fancy Action Bar
You can customize the action bars with AUI – Advanced UI but, if you don’t want the other functionalities, Fancy Action Bar is what you need.
This addon displays the two-weapon bars with skill timers. It highlights active skills, it has an instant swap animation, and it also works with a gamepad.
Action Duration Reminder
Honestly, this is something that should be built-in into all MMOs, not just Elder Scrolls Online. Game developers must think very highly of their player base if they expect us to remember the duration of all of our DOTS, skills, buffs, and whatnot.
This neat addon keeps track of the duration of all our slotted abilities and reminds us when to reuse them. It’s a great addon for when you are learning a new rotation.
Combat Metrics
Raid Leader: “Please don’t stand in fire!” You: “Shut up, I’m top DPS!” And if it wasn’t for Combat Metrics you wouldn’t know it.
The addon is a combat parser that helps players analyze the fights.
It shows DPS, heals, the damage you’ve received, the skills that did the most DPS and healing, buffs, debuffs, and so on.
If you want to improve your rotation and become a better player, this is a must-have addon.
PVP Meter
PVP Meter shows statistics from PVP encounters. The addon works with Cyrodiil and Imperial City fights, battlegrounds, and duels.
You will see the number of killing blows, alliance points, deaths, team score, kills, assists, medals, the percentage of won/lost duels, and the outcome of the last five duels.
PVP Meter has customization options such as animations and sounds for killing blows.
RaidNotifier Updated
RaidNotifier Updated is an essential ESO addon for raiders. It makes the fights much easier as it notifies you of incoming damage, current status effects, and boss actions.
The customization feature allows you to personalize the warnings and alerts. Extra functionalities include cosmetic pets and assistants dismissing and food buff tracker.
AlphaGear 2
AlphaGear2 allows players to easily manage skills and equipment. You can have a maximum of 20 profiles with 16 builds. A build includes gear, accessories, weapon bars, and skill bars.
The addon also has integration with AlphaStyle for easier Style management, FCO Itemsaver for inventory management, and ChampionPointsSlots for – you guessed it! – champion points management.
Assist Rapid Riding
This little handy addon allows you to get the speed buff so much faster and easier. Normally, you’d have to go into the skill menu but thanks to Assist Rapid Riding, you can forget about that.
The addon replaces a slotted skill with the Rapid Maneuver skill. After the skill is activated, it defaults to the slotted skill.
Dustman
Are your bags filled with unwanted items? Of course, they are! After all, there’s a fine line between MMO player and hoarder.
The Dustman addon allows players to manage their inventory so they don’t run out of bag space that fast anymore.
The addon will automatically sell junk items when you access a vendor. It also allows you to mark items as junk so you automatically get rid of them either by selling or destroying them.
Awesome Guild Store
The name couldn’t be a better description. Awesome Guild Store improves the guild store interface.
It has handy options such as advanced filters for the search function and sliders to adjust the quantity and price of the items you want to sell.
Awesome Guild Store also shows the number of listed items, the location of guild traders, and all the guild traders you have visited.
Essential Housing Tools
Essential Housing Tools is a Tamriel homeowner’s best friend. It allows you to create housing item groups to easily change their location, alignment, and more.
You can clone the groups and put them in another house and share them with friends.
The Housing Hub feature lets you quickly travel to any of your homes and create a hub for your friends and guildmates.
Dolgubon’s Lazy Writ Crafter
This addon does the writ crafting work for you. It automatically creates the items for writs and more.
Dolgubon’s Lazy Writ Crafter also obtains writs rewards, takes quest items from the bank, and notifies you of valuable rewards.
Unfortunately, provisioning and alchemy writs are not supported. Daily Provisioning and Daily Alchemy addons support automatic writ crafting for these two professions
