Pearl Abyss, the renowned Korean developer and publisher, has announced the worldwide launch of ‘Land of the Morning Light,’ the first major expansion of Black Desert Online for the year 2023. Slated for release on Wednesday, June 14, players can now pre-order this folklore-infused expansion on Steam.

The announcement came during a Developer Commentary stream held by the company, where the team detailed what players can expect from this highly anticipated expansion. Besides the new content, Pearl Abyss also revealed the release windows for the ‘Awakening’ updates for both Woosa and Maegu classes.

‘Land of the Morning Light’ introduces players to an immersive world, weaving elements of folklore into the gameplay. It promises to build on the rich narrative and expansive universe that fans have come to expect from Black Desert Online.

Fans of the Woosa class will not have to wait long for an upgrade. The ‘Awakening’ of the Woosa class is scheduled for release on Wednesday, May 31. This update will equip the Woosa class with new abilities and a more powerful skill set, giving players more strategic options in battles.

Following closely, the Maegu class will receive their Awakening in June, further expanding the strategic depth and playstyle diversity in Black Desert Online. Although the exact date was not specified, players can expect it to coincide with the release of the ‘Land of the Morning Light’ expansion.
