New Quest ‘Murder on the Border’ Arrives in RuneScape with Whodunit Twist and Cooking Benefits

Jagex, the developers behind the popular online game RuneScape, has announced the arrival of a new quest called “Murder on the Border“. The first quest of the season will be available to players starting March 20th and comes with a fun whodunit twist and real benefits for Cooking skills.

In this quest, players will host a lavish banquet for the Misthalin royal family and select nobility, but the festivities take a shocking turn when one of the guests is found murdered. Players will have to use their classic quest skills to solve the mystery and catch the culprit before they strike again.

To help with the investigation, players will meet a whole host of intriguing and potentially deadly characters, including the King and Queen of Misthalin, a novice alchemist, a renowned chef, and a retired knight, among others. Using the new Mystery Journal interface, players will gather clues from around the Fort, link them to the different characters, and view character profiles to solve the mystery.

Completing the quest comes with real benefits, including the ability to add a lavish kitchen to the player’s Fort, access to the Cooking Supplies Shop and Soup Station, and increased Cooking XP. The King will also reward players with a Quest Point and XP Lamps.

To embark on “Murder on the Border”, players will need to complete the New Foundations miniquest and construct at least Level 1 versions of the first four buildings in their Fort – that’s the Workshop, Town Hall, Command Center, and Chapel. Players will need a minimum of 30 Construction to complete all of the above.
