A recent video preview titled “Tarisland Class Introduction – Mage” showcases the Mage class in the upcoming MMO Tarisland. It offers players a glimpse into the class’s abilities, origins, and dual specialization talents.

Tarisland’s striking similarity to another highly popular MMO, World of Warcraft (WoW), has already drawn criticism and sparked conversations in the gaming community, and it seems like Tencent isn’t trying to hide the similarities or even blatant copying anymore.

A glaring example is the artwork of a Murloc—a recognizable creature from the WoW universe—that makes an appearance a few seconds into the video, placed unmissably in the lower left corner of the screen.

This incident is not the first where Tarisland has been compared to WoW. From its user interface to its character design, the upcoming MMO has faced multiple critiques for seeming to draw heavily from WoW’s tried-and-true formula.
