EVE Online Announces Equinox Update, Promises Significant Changes for Nullsec Space

The Upwell Consortium is poised to introduce a new technology suite known as “Equinox” on June 11, YC 126, designed for null security zones in EVE Online. This suite includes technologies such as the orbital skyhook, which enhances the efficiency of transferring resources from planets to space, and the Metenox Moon Drill, aimed at automating resource extraction.

The suite also features a redesigned sovereignty hub intended to improve territorial management by allowing upgrades based on system topology and resource needs. This could potentially increase the strategic value of territories and the resources they hold.

There are concerns regarding the possible escalation of pirate activities due to the new technologies revealing previously inaccessible resources. Upwell has highlighted the durability and robustness of these installations but has not directly addressed these security concerns.

Additionally, the Equinox update will introduce a set of new ships specifically designed for transporting infrastructure and planetary resources, indicating a focus on logistical efficiency and strategic deployment.

Furthermore, enhancements to the AIR Daily Goals system by AIR Technologies have been announced, which will introduce a long-term, monthly goal track designed to incentivize player engagement across various activities within the game.
