EverQuest II Reveals 2024 Plans: New Origins Server, Updates, and Community Events Highlight Future Direction

The latest Producer’s Letter from EverQuest II, penned by Jenn Chan, the Head of Studio, provides a comprehensive update on past events, ongoing developments, and a glimpse into the game’s future for its community.

During PAX East, from March 21 through 24, EverQuest II held a panel and an after-hours meetup, which were well-received by attendees. Additionally, details regarding the upcoming Fippy Fest were shared, emphasizing the array of rewards available to those purchasing in-person tickets. With tickets selling quickly and a final purchase deadline set for April 21, 2024, interested parties are encouraged to act fast. A livestream of the event will also be available for those unable to attend in person.

The letter announces the Beta release of Game Update 125, titled Darkpaw Rising, alongside the DirectX 11 API Port. This update introduces a new adventure featuring the gnoll clans and is accessible to players without the need for the latest expansion. It includes tradeskill content, quests, and collections for characters of at least level 10.

The ongoing Bristlebane Day Event offers a 20% discount on past season mercenaries, celebrating the holiday with themed activities and items.

A unique Jigsaw Puzzle event is taking place across social media, offering daily challenges with rewards. The introduction of the new EverQuest II forums, including class skill suggestion subforums and a voting system, aims to enhance community engagement.

The letter recaps notable events and updates from January to March, including raids, events, and the celebration of EverQuest’s 25th Anniversary.

Looking ahead from April to June, the schedule includes the launch of Game Update 125, the DirectX 11 API Port, new raid content, and the Origins TLE Server. This server is designed to replicate the EverQuest II experience from 2006, offering a return to The Shattered Lands era with a focus on classic gameplay elements.
