Gearbox Publishing Rebrands to Arc Games Following Embracer Group’s Sale to Take Two

Gearbox Publishing has officially rebranded to Arc Games. This development follows the recent sale of Gearbox to Take Two, as the Embracer Group continues to streamline its expansive portfolio of acquired companies.

Previously, Gearbox Publishing had been the umbrella for several titles and studios, including the likes of MMORPG giants Neverwinter and Star Trek Online, both of which are developed by Cryptic Studios. These games, alongside others, found their home within Gearbox Publishing San Francisco, which has now transitioned to the name Arc Games—a move that seems more like a simplification of the brand rather than a drastic overhaul.

Alongside the announcement of the rebranding, Arc Games revealed plans for the re-release of Gigantic, introducing Gigantic: Rampage Edition. This news was shared via social media, indicating a renewed focus on the game and its future developments. Additionally, Arc Games has teased upcoming information for Hyper Light Breaker, including a trailer set to be showcased during the III Initiative event on April 10.
