RuneScape fans and comic book enthusiasts alike have something to look forward to on May 6th – Free Comic Book Day (FCBD)! In celebration of this annual event, a special twelve-page RuneScape comic will be available for free from participating comic shops.
This exclusive issue will feature early details of the four-part epic comic series entitled “RuneScape: Untold Tales of the Godwars,” which is set to release later this year from Titan Comics. The upcoming series will delve into the Temple of Lost Ancients during the catastrophic and iconic God Wars, as four warring armies fight for control of the Godsword – a weapon capable of killing a deity.
The story follows the undead Maro, who dreams of breaking free from his master’s clutches. However, escaping from the necromancer leads to a twisting, thrilling journey for Maro when he finds allies and enemies across the front lines.
The talented team behind the comic includes writer Ryan O’Sullivan, inks by Daniel Bayliss, and colors by Laurel Dundee. The FCBD cover will be done by RuneScape Principal Concept Artist David Barker.
To get your hands on the RuneScape comic, use the official Free Comic Book Day Store Locator to find a list of participating shops close to you. Unfortunately, FCBD generally only operates in English-speaking countries, so not everyone will be able to get their hands on this free issue. However, the full series of four comic books slated to release later in the year and the Graphic Novel coming in 2024 will be distributed globally (in English).
