The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) has just announced a new class as part of its 2023 Global Reveal: the Arcanist. This powerful new class will be available with the upcoming Necrom Chapter, set to launch on June 5, 2023 for PC/Mac and June 20, 2023 for Xbox and PlayStation consoles.
The Arcanist is ESO’s seventh class and is based on the realm of Oblivion, specifically the power of Apocrypha. Players can harness powerful runes, tomes of ancient knowledge, and the energy of Apocrypha itself to unleash destructive, defensive, or restorative magics.
The Arcanist class also introduces a new combat mechanic called Crux. As players activate certain Arcanist class abilities, they will generate Crux, which can be saved up and spent when activating other specific abilities. The more Crux that is generated before spending (up to a maximum of three), the more empowered the ability will be when used.
The Arcanist class has three unique skill lines: the damage-focused Herald of the Tome, the restorative Curative Runeforms, and the defensive Apocryphal Soldier. Each skill line has its own active, passive, and Ultimate abilities, many of which generate or utilize Crux.
Players who are interested in the new Arcanist class can learn more about it on the official ESO website. The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom is part of the Shadow Over Morrowind adventure and is available for pre-purchase now. Players who pre-purchase the Necrom chapter will receive unique bonus rewards at launch, as well as immediate access to the Sadrith Mora Spore Steed mount and Sadrith Mora Spore Pony pet. However, the Spore Pony pet is only available until April 18, 2023.
