Singularity Six Set to Hold Massive Stress Test for Palia with Over 200,000 Players Invited
Singularity Six, the game developer behind the cozy multiplayer game Palia, is gearing up for its biggest playtest yet. This upcoming large-scale concurrency test, fondly dubbed “The Great Palian Stress Test,” will put Palia’s server stability under scrutiny, ensuring the game can handle a large number of players logged in simultaneously.
This playtest, scheduled for July 6, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM Pacific Standard Time, will see more than 200,000 new players joining the game, along with returning Alpha testers. This substantial surge in players will undoubtedly be a sight to behold, promising a vibrant and bustling in-game world.
Invitations for the test are being sent out in batches until June 30. To improve the chances of selection, interested parties can sign up and complete a survey on Palia’s website. Previous Alpha testers do not need to reapply as they will automatically receive invitations.
Players who have already signed up for previous tests need not sign up again. Taking the survey, however, will increase chances of being selected. The Singularity Six team has set up a Discord server for updates on when each wave of invites is sent. An additional email with details on accessing Palia will also be sent closer to the test date.
Upon receiving an invitation, players will be directed to an account creation page, and they’re advised to update their email opt-in settings in the subscriptions section to ensure receipt of future communications.
Like previous Alpha tests, the upcoming playtest is under a strict non-disclosure agreement (NDA), barring participants from sharing their experiences, screenshots, or thoughts outside of the group of testers.
The company also provided an extensive FAQ section, addressing common queries such as the possibility of boosting the chances of getting into the test, the procedure for those who encounter problems with their accounts, and an explanation for the strict NDA policy.
While Palia is an MMO, it departs from traditional formats. It’s described as a “cozy” game, leaning more towards activities such as decorating, crafting, cooking, and exploring a fascinating new world. Singularity Six also assures that despite the expected technical and visual bugs, the playtest will hold plenty of surprises and laughs for its participants.
Those interested in testing out the magical world of Palia are encouraged to sign up soon and join this unique experience. The upcoming playtest marks an essential step towards the full release of Palia, offering a sneak peek at what promises to be an enchanting journey for players.
