Beast Burst Entertainment’s Ambitious MMORPG Kickstarter Falls Short
The Kickstarter campaign for the MMORPG Scars of Honor, initiated by Bulgarian startup studio Beast Burst Entertainment, has concluded without reaching its target goal of $200,000. The campaign, which aimed to bring a new game into the MMORPG genre with similarities to World of Warcraft but with a free-to-play model and cross-platform capabilities, gathered $34,041 from 261 backers over the course of a month.
Initial promotional efforts included partnerships with popular YouTubers to generate interest. Despite these efforts, the campaign and the game’s Discord channel showed limited activity from the developers in recent weeks, leading to discussions among players about the communication approach during the campaign.
Despite not achieving the Kickstarter goal, Beast Burst Entertainment has indicated that the development of Scars of Honor will continue. The studio has previously secured funding from other sources and offers a variety of funding packages on its website, allowing for continued financial support through the sale of game access and in-game items. The game’s development also requires an active subscription for access outside of scheduled test sessions, suggesting ongoing development and testing activities.
Following the end of the Kickstarter campaign, the studio released a statement expressing gratitude towards its supporters and outlined the plan moving forward. The statement highlighted the value of the feedback received through the Kickstarter campaign and confirmed the studio’s commitment to continuing the game’s development. The team emphasized the addition of new professionals to their ranks and a reorganization of their development pipeline to enhance efficiency and speed.
