EverQuest 2 2023 Roadmap Revealed: New Raid Zones, Updates, and Expansion Launch

Daybreak Games, the developer behind EverQuest 2, has released its 2023 roadmap for the game. The new year promises a variety of updates and new content for players to enjoy, including new raid zones, updates to existing events, and new game updates.

Starting in January, players can look forward to new raid zones being unlocked in the Renewal of Ro, including the Raj’Dur Plateaus: The Hunt and Sandstone Delta: The Standing Storm. February will see the unlocking of the Fallen Dynasty on the Varsoon server, where players can explore the Island of Mara and its environs. There will also be new updates to the Erollisi Day event and a new raid zone in Takish Badlands: The Boundless Gulf.

March brings more updates, including to the Chronoportal Phenomenon and Brewday Festival events, as well as a new raid zone in Buried Takish’Hiz: Emergence from Stone. The Game Update 122 beta will also open, and there will be server mergers between Tarinax and Antonia Bayle and Kaladim and Antonia Bayle.

April will see more updates to existing events, such as Beast’r Eggstravaganza and the launch of Game Update 122, which will include new raids, a contested dungeon, quests, tradeskill content, collections, and the Overseer Season 05. Varsoon will also unlock Echoes of Faydwer, allowing players to explore the continent of Faydwer and access new class Alternate Advancement trees.

May brings a Mercenary AI update, and June will see a new equipment slot for equipment obtained through live events. There will also be updates to Summer Jubilee’s Tinkerfest and Patches of Pride events, and Varsoon will unlock new content in The Estate of Unrest, Shard of Fear, and three contested Avatars.

July will see the beta launch of Game Update 123, and August will bring the full launch of the update, along with new updates to the Summer Jubilee’s Oceansfull Festival. Varsoon will also unlock Rise of Kunark, allowing players to pillage the ancient lands of Kunark.

September brings an expansion prelude, and October will see the beta and pre-order launch of the 2023 expansion, along with updates to the Nights of the Dead event and new content on Varsoon in Runnyeye: The Gathering, Veksar: The Invasion, and Shard of Hate. November will see the Extra Life Game Day and updates to the Heroes’ Festival, and the expansion will launch at the end of the month.

December will bring updates to Frostfell and new content on Varsoon in The Shadow Odyssey, and there will also be a Swag Store release with a date to be determined. Beyond 2023, Daybreak Games plans to port the game to the DirectX 11 API.
