We finally have a tidbit of information about the upcoming League of Legends MMO. In a recent job posting for a Lead Combat Game Designer on the Riot website we got some info about the title.

First of all the posting confirmed that the game will be a third-person MMO, which might not come as a surprise.

But we also got confirmation about action combat. Riot emphasized that this new MMO will feature cutting-edge action combat that’s both immediately satisfying and engaging for potentially thousands of hours of play. The lead combat designer for this project is tasked with creating the core combat fundamentals and enemy systems, indicating a game that’s not just about flashy moves, but strategic decision making and depth of gameplay.

The job posting indicates that the lead combat designer will need a deep understanding of multiplayer Player versus Environment and Player versus Player games.

Finally, and this is a big one – cross-platform play. While this isn’t set in stone, Riot Games has expressed a preference for a combat designer with experience across multiple platforms, including PC, console, and mobile.

This could mean the possibility of playing this MMO on your platform of choice and connecting with friends, regardless of what system they’re on.

While all of this is still speculative and based on a job posting by Riot Games, it’s definitely got us excited for what’s to come. We’ll be keeping a close eye on developments and will bring you more as we get it!
